Add a guide for the day for $100 per party of 4 per day to the hosted base price. Parties of more than 4 will require 2 guides. Guides must be booked in advance to be able to properly organize.

Altoona Ridge Lodge's Guides and Hosts are wild about the mountains. They bring together their own individuality, blended with many years of experience in the mountains, an avid desire for the backcountry, and their own life experiences of skiing, mountaineering, and living in the mountains around the globe.

They have all chosen to live in Western Montana because of its remoteness, beautiful scenery, and amazing mountains.

The Altoona Ridge Lodge is an ongoing family enterprise brought together by Denison von Maur and Andrea Davis. Their love for the mountains and desire to share the experience with everybody else is the base of the enterprise. The Altoona Ridge Lodge is located in an undiscovered and unexploited area of Western Montana, in the Flint Creek Mountains. An area discovered by miners during the late 1800s, and then abandoned.

Denison and Andrea chose the area because there is very little development. At the Altoona Ridge Lodge, there are none of the noises of civilization, there are clear skies by day, the night skies are so bright with stars it is possible to walk around outdoors without a light, and the space between the moments is yours to create.

Relaxing in the sauna, enjoying the sound of silence as the breeze dances through the trees, listening to the slow scuffle of skis and feet on the trails as they hike the mountains. The Lodge is off the grid and away from the pressures of society.

The group came together through their mutual love and respect for the backcountry, in the natural environment which Montana offers. At the end of the day they all agree that it is the food and the camaraderie that brings the entire project together.
